Eleanor’s passion for flowers began with a sunflower patch she nurtured annually in the front yard of her family’s home in Arlington, VA. As a medical student at Virginia Commonwealth University, her love of fresh flowers combined with her desire to care for patients sparked the creation of The Simple Sunflower. She is now a resident physician in Portland, OR and is working to expand the organization through the creation of new chapters.
